Let the Games Begin!

The laundromat isn't exactly the most intellectually stimulating place. Sure they have coffee and the newspaper, but the bulk of the literature is tabloid magazines, kiddie DVDs, and trashy, four-dollar romance novels (you know - the type with half-naked, tangled people on the front covers).

So I have invented a few games to pass the time, the best of which is called "What's in the Lint Trap?" Just like it sounds, "What's in the Lint Trap?" is won by the most interesting object acquired during the nightly cleaning of the lint traps. Here are some of my personal favorites:

* Money. Of course this is first on the list.
* Cat hair. Sometimes I think people shave their cats and put the hair in the lint trap when I'm not looking.
* Dead ladybugs. So far that's the only species of insect that's shown up, but I'm sure there will be more.
* Earrings. Never a matching pair.
* Hardware. I've found everything from four-inch nails to S hooks.
* Ball-point pens. Don't ask me how they fit in there.
* Melted rubber bands. Those dryers get hot!
* Lint. You know it's gonna be a long shift when lint wins this game.
